Longwave LED 365nm Ultraviolet Flashlight - UV1LW
365nm longwave flashlight which is very popular for sodalite hunters along the great lakes in the U.S. Some people known them by the trademarked name of Yooperlites. Fluorescent orange sodalite rocks can be found all along the great lakes and in many other places in North America. While only 10% of fluorescent minerals respond to longwave aka blacklight many rocks can still be found in creek beds, landscape rocks, and old mine tailings. The output of longwave LEDs are exceptionally strong because of technological advancements. The cost of longwave filters and leds also make them much more affordable than shortwave or midwave UV lamps.
Longwave UV flashlights are also great for scorpion hunting and detecting pet stains along with other things you do not want to touch in hotels and such!
A free Mexican calcite specimen will also be included to help you get started in your collecting journey. Specimen size will be around 3 to 4 inches in size a 40 dollar value!
We recommend you start with a shortwave UV lamp before going with longwave UV because over 90 percent of fluorescent minerals need shortwave UV to respond.
